Relax
We built this centre to for our child and adult clients. Please relax in the reception area before or after your session.
Clinical Excellence
Our speech pathologists are our greatest asset. We are constantly investing in their clinical and professional development constantly. This means that you can have confidence that your treating clinician will be treating you with the best evidence-based research in the field, backed by their clinical experience.
At the time of starting therapy with our service we will have clear baseline measures and clear therapy goals to target. This means that we have a clear plan of strategies that we want to work with you on, and can measure future progress. We invest time to prepare for each session and love working with our motivated clients.
As a client at Talkshop Speech Pathology, you are being treated by our team. You will have a primary treating clinician, and a possible secondary clinician.
This allows us ensure the continuity of your therapy if ever your primary clinician is away.
Keeping it real!
We are highly motivated to work with motivated clients. We are able provide excellent clinical advice and treatment in the session, but the longterm success only comes with engagement with home practice. You will be given exercises to practice with at home each week based on your therapy session.
The exercises will be based on what we know to be the most effective to making a real and meaningful difference in your skills so that you can best participate in your everyday life. These will be reviewed at the start of every session.

Payment Policy
Therapy sessions are booked in blocks. A payment plan is set up so that automated billing occurs on the planned therapy appointment days. The receipt is emailed directly to you.
Cancellation/Rescheduling
If you need to cancel an appointment, the automated charge will still occur, but we will assist you in re-booking the session as soon as possible to ensure continuity of your therapy. This may be with another speech pathologist. Rescheduled sessions should be booked within 2 weeks or the missed appointment, or within 2 weeks of the end of the therapy block.
Not turning up
We will send you an SMS appointment reminder 24 hours before your session. If you do miss your appointment we will call to make contact. If we can fit you in at another time that day we will offer that option. If rescheduling your appointment that day is not possible your clinician will talk you through some of the therapy exercises planned for your session so you can practice at home. If we can't get hold of you we will leave a message or send an email. Unfortunately we cannot offer refunds for missed appointments.
Late arrival
As a professional courtesy to you, we will endeavour to always be timely and well prepared for your session. If you arrive late for an appointment your session will still end at its scheduled time as a courtesy to clients with sessions following yours.
